Incoming Staff Experience at Tarsus University
 

"Participating in the Erasmus+ mobility at Tarsus University has been a truly meaningful and enriching experience, and I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to be part of this program. Our visit to the Political Science Department allowed us to learn from their best practices, exchange valuable ideas, and gain insights that we can apply in our own institution. Beyond the academic experience, I was deeply inspired by the rich culture, history, and warm hospitality of the people of Tarsus, Türkiye, making this journey both professionally and personally rewarding.

I am especially thankful to the Erasmus+ Office, as well as the faculty and staff of Tarsus University, for their exceptional support, kindness, and assistance throughout our stay. Their warm welcome, generosity, and willingness to help made us feel comfortable and truly valued. Most importantly, this mobility has strengthened our institutional ties and opened opportunities for future collaborations between our college and Tarsus University. I sincerely appreciate the Erasmus+ program for making this unforgettable experience possible, and I look forward to seeing the partnerships and friendships we have built continue to grow in the years ahead."

My first impression is that Türkiye is a country full of warmth, energy, and hospitality.
What impressed me the most was seeing students and people in the city talking outside with a glass of çay in their hands. In Japan, many people tend to look at their smartphones, and communication is often done through social media. Therefore, I felt that Turkish culture places great importance on direct communication and human relationships.
I think the Erasmus+ program is a very valuable and meaningful program. International collaboration and inter-university partnerships do not always begin with large formal research projects. Very often, they begin with human exchange. When researchers, staff, and students actually visit each other’s universities, they can understand the real atmosphere of the university, the city, and the people. This kind of direct experience makes collaboration more natural and stronger.
Tarsus University is a young university, and I felt that it has a very energetic atmosphere. I was also impressed by the active attitude of the students and the positive atmosphere throughout the university. I believe that exchanges between Tarsus University and Nagoya Institute of Technology will be very stimulating for young people in both countries...I believe this mobility will become an important first step toward deeper collaboration between our universities. Through this visit, we were able to meet face to face, exchange ideas about research and education, and understand each other’s research environments and university atmosphere. These experiences are very important for developing collaborations based on mutual trust.  

"During this mobility, I concluded that the conditions for both studying and academic work on the University of Tarsus campus are excellent, as the infrastructure itself is at an exceptionally high level. The hosts and the Erasmus team were incredibly friendly and hospitable; in that regard, I felt completely as though I were in the company of close friends.
Finally, my colleague and I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the university and the Erasmus team for the exceptional pleasure and privilege of being your guests. We felt more than comfortable, and your invaluable support with logistical and administrative matters from the very first day of our arrival in Mersin ensured a smooth transition, allowing us to fully engage with our mobility objectives."
